What We Do: Fundraising Events
together, we can make a difference in a kid's life
BFPC attends & volunteers at a handful events throughout the school year. Many of these are hosted by other organizations on campus or in the Los Angeles area. From Relay for Life to LA Loves Alex's Lemonade, BFPC is there to spread our mission and support other organizations with similar interests! We also hold a few small fundraisers of our own.

Relay for Life at UCLA

Every spring, BFPC participates in Relay for Life at UCLA. As many know, Relay for Life is The American Cancer Society's signature event. ​It's a team fundraising walk-a-thon where team members take turns walking around the UCLA Drake Stadium Track for 24 hours.
​

As a team, BFPC members raise money for the cause, which overlaps with ours. We reflect on those we know who have been affected by cancer, we bond, and we make lasting memories. We also dominate with our campsite, having won best-decorated campsite for several years! Last years theme was “Camp Out for a Cure”- where we proudly won best decorated campsite! We'll be going all out again for whatever theme they throw at us this year, so get ready!

L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade​
​
Available BFPC members volunteer for L.A. Love's Alex's Lemonade, taking place at Royce Quad, in early September every year. Sponsored by an organization near and dear to BFPC's heart, Alex's Lemonade Stand, this large event brings together a ton of superstar chefs, mixologists, and even celebrities whose dishes are auctioned off with the proceeds going to fight childhood cancer. This year (2018), over two thousand people attended this event and over 1.4 million dollars was raised for pediatric cancer clinical research! BFPC volunteers are proud to help and volunteer! Look out for next year’s event in 2019!

UCLA's Dribble For The Cure ​

Aspire to be like Kobe Bryant? Or maybe Troy Bolton? Each fall, you can join BFPC when we participate in Dribble for a Cure at UCLA. The UCLA Athletic Department joined forces with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and Mattel Children's Hospital to bring this event to campus. UCLA coaches, athletes, and students 'dribble for a cure' raising money to be used for pediatric cancer research by PCRF and Mattel Children's Hospital programs.

Our Own Mini Fundraisers Right on Campus

Throughout the school year, we hold various fundraisers on Bruinwalk such as boba sales, Krispy Kreme Donut sales, and much more that benefit a variety of causes. Be on the lookout for those!
